Hi, my name is Antoine Meunier.
This year I made it to the SUP World Championships with less than 3 months experience in the sport. It’s the most random thing that happened to me. So random, it even became its own “product” with its own revenue stream.
It all began back in June in Tofino. I noticed there was a SUP event at the beach over the weekend and thought that it’d be a blast to participate. I showed up to the race, borrowed a board… and won the damn thing! Becoming Canadian Sprint Champion and qualified for World Championships to be held 3 months later in Copenhagen.
I figured I might as well go all in so I changed my summer plans and began training for Worlds! I ended up placing 19th in the Sprint but had the experience of a lifetime.
Upon returning from Copenhagen, I decided to un-retire and jump back into being a professional athlete all over again. This time however, much like any 2.0 projects, I’m planning to do it right!
I’ll be traveling the world and taking part in most major events in 2018, tag along for the journey!
My goal for 2018 is to break the top 10 in the world.
