Hi, my name is Kat.
This year I made Oliphant Kat Knits. It’s an Etsy store full of hand made knitwear.
I’m a software developer by trade, but I’ve been obsessed with knitting for as long as I can remember, so for the last few years I’ve dreamt of bringing the two together by working at Etsy. I moved to New York to do it, which meant I suddenly had very few social obligations and a lot more time to knit, and heard so much about successful sellers at work that I decided to take the plunge.
Relatedly, I’ve ended up building out my brand in a bunch of places – my Instagram feed is now focused on knitwear, and I have a bunch of knitting patterns that I wrote published on my blog and on Ravelry.
My goal for 2017 is to start publishing tutorials and blogs, and bring a bit more of myself into my creative work.
